BOHOL VACCINATION BEGINS: Governor Atty. Art C. Yap joins on Saturday (March 6, 2021) Dra. Mutya Kismet Macuno, Medical Center Chief of Gallares Memorial Hospital, and First District Congressman Atty. Edgar M. Chatto, in launching Bohol’s first rollout of anti-covid vaccination program first administered on Dr. Lawrence Elliot Tirol, a frontliner, using the Sinovac brand.

Dr. Lawrence Elliot Tirol, as a medical frontliner, got the first dose of anti-covid vaccine during the ceremonial program held at the Gallares Hospital in Tagbilaran City.

“All our efforts in the past year of preventing an infection breakout in Bohol was leading to this day when vaccinations will start to be implemented in Bohol,” Gov. Yap said during the ceremonial program.

In his message, the governor expressed gratitude to all anti-covid frontliners in Bohol.

Meanwhile, Philippine Airlines reported that it is airlifting its third wave of Covid vaccine to Bohol over the weekend.

“As vaccinations begin, allow me to thank all the medical frontliners, the Mayors, Barangay Captains, Public Officials, Congressmen, Provincial, Municipal and City Health Officials, the Business Sector, the Media and all other partners for keeping Bohol safe,” the governor said.

Gov. Yap stressed: “Now we have to move to the next step in reclaiming our lives not only by participating in the national vaccination program but understanding that the vaccines will not prevent infections but will just minimize its severe effects.”

As the anti-covid vaccination program commences, Bohol has relaxed its rules for visitors and residents to return to the province. The new Bohol protocol, embodied in Gov. Art Yap’s Executive Order No. 17, is anchored on the guidelines released by the national inter-agency task force (IATF) on Covid.

Gov. Yap said all the people of Bohol must continue to remain ever vigilant against Covid by wearing masks, keeping distance and ensuring cleanliness.”
